Derek and his family are members of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rochester. Derek was a proud Board Member of Macomb Habitat for Humanity. He learned lot about the organization and how much they help a struggling family get to afford a good home at a low subsidized interest rate. These families, often led by a single parent are great, productive members of our society that are often working 2 jobs to make ends meet.
The late Jimmy Carter was a big believer in Habitat for Humanity, which is one of the main reasons Derek was drawn to the organization from the outset. But once involveD. Miller found it extremely rewarding to meet the folks that were directly impacted and who’s life improved due to the group’s efforts. It literally takes a village and we’re stronger together.
Miller worked hard to use his connections to raise critical funds for the organization. Derek and his wife, Katie are still active in the Organization.
